Nepali momos are incomplete without their spicy chutney. This authentic Nepali momo chutney will give you a perfect dipping sauce with balanced heat and tanginess.
3 large tomatoes roughly chopped 2-3 dry red chillies 2 tbsp sesame seeds 2 cloves garlic 1 piece ginger 1 tbsp coriander leaves 1 tbsp vinegar 1 tsp salt ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp sugar 1 tbsp oil
Roast sesame seeds in a pan until they turn golden brown; keep them aside.
Heat oil in a pan, sauté the dry red chillies, garlic, and ginger until you can smell the aroma.
Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, and sugar and cook for about 5 minutes until tomatoes soften.
Blend the cooked mixture after adding roasted sesame seeds and vinegar until it turns smooth.
Taste and adjust seasoning according to your palate.
Serve with steaming hot momos.
