Taro leaves, known as "Arbi ke Pattey" in India, are widely used in various regional dishes. Growing them at home is easy and rewarding if you follow these simple steps.
Choose healthy taro corms (root bulbs) from a nursery or store. Make sure they are firm and free from blemishes.
In a large pot or garden area, plant the corms 2-3 inches deep in well-drained, fertile soil. Ensure there is adequate space for growth.
Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Taro thrives in damp environments, so regular watering is key.
Taro leaves need indirect sunlight. Place them in a partially shaded area for best growth.
In about 2-3 months, you can start harvesting young taro leaves for cooking.
