Red rice is packed with dietary fibre, carbohydrates, vitamin B1 and B2, and minerals like iron, calcium and magnesium.
Grown in states like Assam, Himachal, Bengal, Kerala, etc. this indigenous rice must be a part of your diet.
To cook red rice, wash the grains 3-4 times thoroughly. Soaking the red rice isn’t necessary, but you can for an hour.
Transfer the rice into a pressure cooker. Add 2 parts water to 1 part red rice.
Cook the red rice for 3 whistles, release the pressure naturally, then serve the rice.
