Brewing an authentic espresso and sipping through the bold flavours is one of the best experiences, but only if you get the brewing process right. To clear any questions, confusion, and misunderstandings, here's how you can brew a perfect cup of espresso at home:
Freshly ground coffee (fine grind) Filtered water Equipment: Espresso machine Coffee grinder Tamper
Turn on the espresso machine and let it warm up for 15-20 minutes. Use 18-20 grams of coffee beans and grind them to a fine consistency, like table salt.
Place the ground coffee into the portafilter basket. Use the tamper to press the coffee grounds evenly and firmly. Ensure the surface is level and smooth.
Insert and secure the portafilter into the machine. Start the machine. Espresso should begin to flow in 5-7 seconds. Brew for 25-30 seconds for a double shot (about 60 ml).
Once the espresso is brewed, serve it right away to enjoy its rich flavour and crema.
