Everyone loves samosas, but sometimes making them from scratch can feel like a chore. But with this quick hack, you can have yummy samosas ready in a fraction of the time.
4 ready-made parathas 2 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed ½ cup peas, boiled 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional) 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste ½ tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp coriander powder ¼ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp garam masala Salt to taste Oil for frying
Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add the chopped onions and green chilli to the pan and sauté until translucent. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
Add the mashed potatoes and boiled peas to the pan. Mix well.
Sprinkle the coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix all the spices evenly with the potato-pea mixture. Cook for 2 mins and take off the heat.
Place a paratha on a flat surface. Take a portion of the potato-pea filling and place it in the centre of the paratha.
Fold the paratha over the filling, forming a triangle. Press the edges firmly. Carefully place the samosas in hot oil, and fry until they turn golden brown. Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
