Homemade Walnut Butter Recipe For A Healthy Vegan Spread

Walnut butter is a healthy vegan spread known for its nutty flavour and smooth texture. The spread is ideal for baking cookies, spreading on bread, muffins, and more as it packs the goodness of walnuts, making it the go-to choice for fitness enthusiasts.

Ingredients

2 cups walnuts 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional) 1/2 tsp salt (optional)

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Using a baking sheet, spread out the walnuts and toast for 8 to 10 minutes.

Step 2

Once the walnuts have cooled down a bit, move them into a food processor.

Step 3

Puree until smooth, scraping down sides as necessary (this should take 5 to 10 minutes).

Step 4

Blend in the salt (if used) and honey/maple syrup after adding them. In the refrigerator, store in an airtight container.
