Potato murukku is a crispy, savoury snack made using boiled potatoes, rice flour, and spices. This simple and tasty treat can be easily prepared at home with minimal ingredients and enjoyed as an evening snack.
2 boiled potatoes 2 tbsp water 2 cups fine rice flour 1 cup besan (gram flour) ¼ tsp turmeric powder ½ tsp chilli powder 1 tsp cumin ½ tsp salt 1 tbsp butter Water for kneading Oil for frying
Boil two potatoes, peel the skin, and mash them into a smooth paste with 2 tbsp of water.
In a bowl, mix rice flour, besan, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin, and salt.
Add butter to the flour mixture, crumble it, and mix until moist.
Add the potato paste to the mixture and knead it into a soft dough using water.
Grease the chakli mould, stuff in the dough, and press out murukku shapes.
Deep fry the murukku in hot oil on medium flame until golden brown and crisp.
