Prepare a blend of spicy masala and melted cheese with this simple masala cheese toast recipe, inspired by Mumbai's vibrant street food culture.
2 teaspoons of oil ½ chopped onion, green chilli, and tomato ¼ chopped capsicum ½ carrot, grated 2 tablespoons of corn ¼ teaspoon turmeric ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 teaspoon chaat masala ¼ teaspoon pepper, crushed ¼ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce 2 tablespoons coriander, finely chopped 3 slices of bread 3 teaspoons butter ½ cup cheddar cheese, grated 3 teaspoons of green chutney
Heat oil in a large kadai and sauté onion and green chilli. Add tomato, capsicum, corn, and carrot and sauté.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add turmeric, chilli powder, chaat masala, pepper, and salt.
Stir in tomato sauce and coriander. Mix thoroughly. Spread butter on each side of bread slices and toast.
Spread green chutney on the toasted side of the bread. Spread the prepared masala over the bread.
Grate cheddar cheese over the masala. Cut the masala cheese toast into halves and serve hot.
