An easy-to-make recipe, homemade lotus stem chips can be made fresh, free of preservatives or extra salt. Season your chips in a spice blend of your choice or enjoy them plain along with a dip on the side.
1 lotus stem, sliced 1 cup water Salt, to taste ½ teaspoon turmeric powder ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon chaat masala Oil, for deep frying
Add the sliced lotus stem to a saucepan filled with water to boil for 5 minutes.
Drain and pat dry the slices using a paper towel to cool while you heat the oil.
Fry the slices until golden-brown and crispy and combine the spice powders with salt simultaneously.
Drain the excess oil on a paper towel and sprinkle the seasoning blend generously to coat the slices.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
