Homemade Choco Chips Recipe To Decorate Your Sweets Treats

Chocolate chips are the perfect addition to any dessert, whether you're looking to garnish them or just give them a nutty crunch. What if we told you that you could make your own chocolate chips?  Here’s how to make it. 

Ingredients 

1 cup of semisweet chocolate, chopped or chocolate chips 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or vegetable shortening 

Step 1

Begin by melting the semisweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, ensuring the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water. Once melted, stir in the coconut oil or vegetable shortening until smooth and well combined. 

Step 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly onto the sheet. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate has hardened. 

Step 3

Once hardened, remove the chocolate from the refrigerator and use a sharp knife to chop it into small, chip-sized pieces. Store the homemade chocolate chips in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use and enjoy adding them to your favourite recipes for an excellent burst of chocolate flavour.
