Filled with sweetened coconut and coated with dark chocolate, these homemade bars are a healthy spin on the packaged sweet treat that is commonly found in supermarkets.

½ cup melted chocolate 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons butter 2.5 cups grated coconut ¾ cup sugar ¼ cup almond powder 2 tablespoons milk powder 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the coconut with sugar until completely melted.

Add the almond powder and milk powder and stir to combine.

Turn off the heat and add the heavy cream, before mixing and transferring to a plate to cool down.

Divide the coconut into small portions and use your hands to shape them into bars.

Mix the coconut oil with the melted chocolate and use a fork to gently toss the coconut bars and coat on all sides.

Place on a wire rack to set and for the chocolate to solidify before serving.
