Homemade Banana Chips for Atham, The First Day of Onam

Celebrate Athachamayam's vibrant spirit by crafting homemade banana chipsalso called Ethakka Upperi. With a touch of tradition and a sprinkle of salt, these crispy delights encapsulate the joy of Onam's onset, offering a delicious and authentic way to partake in the festivities.

Step 1 

Peel green bananas and thinly slice using a mandoline slicer.

Step 2

Soak slices in water with a pinch of turmeric to prevent browning.Drain and pat dry with a kitchen towel.

Step 3

Heat oil for frying in a pan. Fry banana slices until crisp and golden.

Remove onto a paper towel to drain excess oil.
