Roasted chicken, seasoned with onion powder, salt, and pepper and baked to juicy perfection with butter and celery, is ideal for a home-cooked feast.

Ingredients

1 whole chicken (1.5 kg), giblets removed Salt and black pepper to taste 1 tbsp onion powder ½ cup butter 1 stalk celery, leaves removed

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C. Place the chicken in a roasting pan.

Step 2

Season inside and out with onion powder, salt, and pepper. Place 3 tbsp of butter in the chicken cavity.

Step 3

Arrange dollops of remaining butter on the chicken's exterior. Cut celery into 3 or 4 pieces and place them in the chicken cavity.

Step 4

Bake the chicken uncovered for about 1 hour and 15 minutes until juices run clear and the internal temperature reaches 74 degrees C.
