There’s hardly any Holi celebration that is complete without a glass of thandai. For the unversed, it is refreshing milk-based concoction that’s perfect for summer.
A quintessential festive drink, the addition of poppy seeds, watermelon kernels, fennel seeds etc. makes it a nutritional thirst quencher during the hot weather.
Since it is a natural coolant, it keeps the stomach cool and prevents abdominal burning sensations. It also keeps gas and acidity at bay.
Consuming thandai once a day helps to restore the energy levels in the body and recharges the person to function well throughout the day and bear the heat.
Right from being dehydrated to suffering from diarrhea, a glass of thandai can prevent all these problems that occur in summer.
Almonds, pistachios and saffron that goes into the making of thandai is quite good for boosting the brain power and keeping one’s nerve cells active.
While the fennel seeds aid digestive health, the watermelon kernels are known for boosting immunity. Poppy seeds have a calming effect on the body, keeping you relaxed.
