Holi 2023 celebrations will be incomplete without these delicious, deep-fried goodies from around the country. Here’s your Holi must-have check list!

Gujiya

Crispy, syrup-soaked, half-moon shaped Gujiyas are stuffed with mawa and dry fruits.

Malpua

Indian pancakes of flour, sugar, milk & dry fruits, deep-fried and soaked in syrup before serving.

Namak Pare

Mildly spiced, diamond-shaped or rectangular snacks which can be made and stored ahead of time.

Farsi Puri

Spiced and crispy Gujarati snacks, also known as Masala Puri, made of wheat flour or millet flour.

Bhaang Pakori

Holi-special pakodas made of potatoes, onions and spices, laced with cannabis leaves.

Dal Kachori

Lentil-stuffed spicy and crunchy snacks from Rajasthan, served usually with chutneys.

Mathri

Crunchy, disc-shaped and mildly spiced snacks made with wheat flour and seasonings.

Murukku

Also known as Chakli, these golden spirals are made with urad dal, rice flour and spices.

Khaja

Layered, crunchy and sweet, this deep-fried snack comes from Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

Dahi Bhalla

Spiced lentil batter, which is deep fried then served with a topping of curd, chutneys and pomegranate.
