High-Protein Besan Halwa For A Healthy Indian Dessert

This incredible recipe is the ideal way to indulge in your cravings without sacrificing your fitness goals. Made from staple ingredients, this halwa is loaded with flavour and protein, making it an ideal healthy treat.

Ingredients

1 cup besan (gram flour) 1/2 cup ghee 1/2 cup jaggery or sugar 1 cup water 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup protein powder (unflavored or vanilla) 1/4 tsp cardamom powder Chopped nuts for garnish (optional)

Step 1

In a saucepan, dissolve jaggery or sugar in water and milk. Heat until fully dissolved. Set aside.

Step 2

In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt ghee. Add besan and roast on low heat until golden brown and aromatic.

Step 3

Slowly add the syrup to the roasted besan, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 4

Mix in the protein powder and cardamom powder. Cook until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. 

Step 5

Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm.
