The potato skin is often peeled and thrown away while making a dish. Little did we know that the peels are full of health benefits.
The potato peels contain fibre as well as several antioxidants that help in regulating cholesterol levels in the body. That’s why unpeeled potatoes are beneficial.
Some of you may be surprised to know this but potato peels are low in fats and cholesterol as well as salt which help those trying to lose weight.
Apart from direct consumption, simply rubbing peels on dark areas of your skin such as dark circles is quite beneficial. They are effective for removing sun tan too as they contain bleaching properties.
It is said that the potato peels are known to contain chlorogenic acid which combines with carcinogens to prevent cancer.
Since potato peels are rich in potassium, they regulate blood pressure levels and prevent the incidence of cardiovascular diseases and strokes.
