Belonging to the Lakadong village of Meghalaya, it is said to be the world’s best turmeric due to its high concentration of curcumin.
Also known as mango ginger turmeric, this turmeric variety is densely available in West Bengal.
This wild turmeric is widely used as a cosmetic herb in South Asia and nearby regions.
This turmeric is found in the Erode region of Tamil Nadu which contains about 2.5 to 4.5% of curcumin.
Alleppey turmeric from Kerala contains about 5% of curcumin which makes it ideal for several homemade remedies and Ayurvedic medicines.
This pale-yellow turmeric has a 3.5% of curcumin and is beneficial for managing blood sugar level.
Belonging to the state of Maharashtra, this accounts for nearly 70% of state’s total production of turmeric.
