To give your sandwiches a healthy spin, you can always make some alterations in the bread, fillings and more. These tips will come in handy.
Opt for whole grain bread instead of white bread as it contains more fibre and lesser calories. When the base is healthy, the sandwich would be healthy too.
While a slice of cheese does no harm, you can always replace it with a creamy yoghurt spread, hummus or avocado dip to be slathered on the bread.
Load up on veggies in your sandwich and give it a crunchy and healthy twist. Add spinach, broccoli, mushrooms and other sautéed vegetables to it.
A rich source of protein and a great way to keep you full for longer, it is a good idea to add whole eggs to your sandwich. Boil, slice and stuff.
You can go for grilled chicken breast, turkey or bacon and skip red meats. This lends a delicious meaty touch to your sandwich minus the calories.
