South Indian cuisine is considered to be one of the healthiest breakfast and snack options. If you are looking for a quick recipe, try making rava upma with suji for a nutritious and tasty South Indian breakfast.
1 cup rava suji 3 cups water 1/2 tablespoon ghee 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon urad dal 1 teaspoon chana dal 10-12 cashew nuts 1 onion 1 green chilli 1 teaspoon grated ginger 8-10 curry leaves Salt to taste Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Dry roast the suji for about three to four minutes and set it aside.
Take some ghee and cook mustard seeds till they splutter. Then, add urad dal and chana dal and fry till they are golden brown.
Add chopped cashew nuts, curry leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger and saute them.
Mix in chopped onions and cook till they are soft. Then, add water and salt and let it boil.
Turn the heat to low and keep stirring till the suji absorbs most of the water.
Once the rava upma is of the desired consistency, garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
