Paratha is often not advised during the summer season since it contains too much oil or ghee, making the overall meal quite heavy on your stomach. That doesn't mean you have to completely avoid your favourite flatbread, because this healthy recipe will allow you to enjoy paratha guilt-free for a light meal. Here's a recipe for you to try:
1 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup chopped spinach 1/4 cup grated carrot 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder Salt to taste Water for kneading 1 teaspoon vegetable oil or ghee (for cooking)
Combine 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup chopped spinach, 1/4 cup grated carrot, 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves, 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder, and salt to taste in a mixing bowl.
Gradually add water to the dry mixture and knead until you have a smooth dough.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. Place a rolled-out paratha on the hot pan.
Brush a little vegetable oil or ghee, on both sides of the paratha. Cook until golden brown spots appear, flipping as needed.
Repeat with the remaining dough balls to make more parathas. Serve warm with yoghurt or a light salad.
