Walnut milk is one of the popular vegan or nut milk varieties that is prepared by straining walnuts. It packs a lot of flavour and nutrition, which makes it an ideal milk choice for anyone who wants to embrace veganism.
1 cup walnuts (soaked overnight) 4 cups water 1-2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional) 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional) Pinch of salt
After soaking a cup of walnuts in water for a whole night, strain and rinse.
In a blender, combine soaked walnuts with 4 cups of fresh water. Mix until homogenous.
Pour the mixture through a filter with fine mesh or a nut milk bag.
Blend in honey or maple syrup, vanilla essence, and a small amount of salt, if preferred. For up to four days, keep refrigerated.
