Dal dhokli is a traditional Gujarati dish that is made with lentils and dumplings and is made with besan (chickpea flour). For a typical rainy day, it is a warm and comforting meal that you must try.
For Dal: 2 cups Toor dal 3 cups water 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste For The Dhokli: 1 cup besan Water Salt to taste
Rinse and soak toor dal for at least half an hour.
Add soaked dal, water, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt in a pressure cooker. Cook for 15-20 whistles.
Prepare dhokli by kneading a dough with besan, water, and salt.
Make small balls and roll them into ropes. Cut the ropes into small pieces and add to the cooked dal.
Let the dal simmer for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
