Pakodas are one of the most beloved Indian tea-time snacks. While potatoes or onions are one of the go-to options, to have a healthy pakoda, you can try making it with cabbage. Here’s a quick recipe to follow.
½ cup cabbage ¼ cup onion 1 green chilli 1 tablespoon coriander leaves ½ teaspoon grated ginger ½ cup besan ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder ½ teaspoon cumin powder Pinch of asafoetida (hing) Salt to taste Oil for frying
Mix the chopped cabbage, onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, and ginger.
Add salt and mix. Set aside. Remove any moisture released by cabbage.
Take another bowl and mix besan, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, asafoetida, and salt.
Gently mix in water to make a smooth batter. Fold in the cabbage mixture.
Deep-fry or air-fry till crunchy. Serve the pakodas with chutney.
