In India, there is a wide range of vegetables used to make curries and they are the staple meal of the country. However, Indian cuisine also boasts many delicious curry-based dishes that can be prepared without using any vegetables.
Papad ki sabzi is a typical Rajasthani Marwadi dish. This wonderful Rajasthani vegetarian meal only takes 20 minutes to prepare. Made with no vegetable, just papad cooked in dahi gravy, is always a hit on the table.
The beauty of this recipe is that it may be prepared without vegetables, even though one can add as many vegetables as they like to make it healthy and nourishing.
Gatte ki sabzi is a classic gravy-based dish from the rich, rustic, and incredibly flavourful Rajasthani cuisine. Gram flour (besan) roundels called "gatta" or "gatte" are added to a gravy made of curd.
The vegetarian dish is well-known in Pakistan and India. Gram flour fritters (besan pakoras) are topped with a fiery Punjabi tadka and soaked in a rich yellow sauce with a besan and yoghurt base.
It is a delightful Indian dish characterised by a creamy yoghurt-based gravy. This dish hails from rural areas in Punjab.
