Hate Eggplants? Try This South Indian Special Pacha Puli Katharikai

Pacha Puli Katharikai is a South Indian dish that combines brinjal with the zing of fresh tamarind for a one-of-a-kind flavour explosion. Here’s how to make your own at home.

Step 1 

Fry eggplant in sesame or coconut oil. Also fry dried chillies in the same oil. Grind fried chillies with salt using a mixer grinder or mortar and pestle until finely ground.

Step 2

Pound onion, curry leaves, and coriander leaves together. Add fried eggplant to the pounded mixture and crush it.

Step 3

Mix in tamarind extract and 1 tbsp of oil used for frying. Combine well and enjoy your Pacha Puli Katharikai or Katharikai Puli Sambal!
