6-8 small bitter gourds 1 large onion 2 green chillies 1-inch ginger 3 cloves garlic 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon red chilli powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder A pinch of asafoetida Salt to taste Oil for frying
