Hanuman Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Hanuman, known for his great strength and devotion to Lord Rama. Devotees mark the day with prayers, devotional songs, offerings, and the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa text. Since Hanuman Ji was fond of sweets, they remain among the most ubiquitous and beloved offerings made at Hanuman temples and shrines across the land he protects.
On Hanuman Jayanti, jaggery and roasted chana are also offered to Lord Hanuman, as they help curb mangal dosha.
