Haldi doodh or turmeric milk is a traditional Indian beverage that is made by mixing turmeric root and a few spices.
¼ tsp ground turmeric, ¼ tsp ground cardamom, ⅛ tsp ground black pepper, 1 pinch ground ginger, 1 pinch ground cloves, 1 pinch ground allspice, 1 cup milk, ¾ tsp honey, ⅛ tsp vanilla extract
Whisk together turmeric, cardamom, black pepper, ginger, cloves, and allspice in a small bowl; set aside.
Heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes; stir honey and vanilla into milk until completely dissolved.
Whisk 1 teaspoon turmeric mixture into milk; and simmer in low-heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour mixture through a strainer and enjoy.
