In season strawberries are fragrant, red, juicy and sweet. They taste delicious on their own as well as when accompanied by desserts. They are the first fruit available in the winter, however, do not stay long as they turn mushy. Here are some ways how to freeze strawberries for off-season enjoyment. Take a look.

Rinse the berries well with water so get rid of the soil and grasses. Rinse it off with cold water.

Use paper towel to gently blot them dry. Remove the stems and halve the larger berries.

Line the baking sheet with wax paper. Place the strawberries, cut side down on the sheet, leaving space between each berries.

Transfer the sheet, uncover to the freeze. Freeze until hard for about six hours.

Transfer the frozen strawberries to a freezer bag or container and store in the freezer.
