500 gm maida 1/4 cup ghee 250 gm jaggery 1 tsp fennel seeds Oil to frying
Take a bowl and add maida and melted ghee. Mix well until you get a coarse crumb texture and ghee starts holding the flour.
Add water and make a firm dough. Divide the dough into four parts and roll each portion into a thick round circle. Cur vertical strips and repeat.
Heat a kadhai and add oil. Add these dough strips and fry them on medium heat until crisp and brown. When done, drain the excess oil and keep it aside.
Add grated jaggery to a pan and let it melt on low flame. Keep stirring. Cook until it reaches a consistency where you add a drop of jaggery, and it solidifies.
Add saunf and stir well. Turn off the flame and add the fried strips. Mix so that all the strips get coated with jaggery.
When done, take out these gur paare and separate them carefully and serve or store! Enjoy!
