Fresh rosemary is a herb that is appreciated in food as well as drink; it’s herby fragrance elevating the overall flavours. While buying a bunch at the grocery store is fine for when you’re in a rush, tap to see how you can grow some of your own at home.
Select a spot in your garden that receives at least 6-8 hours of sunlight everyday as well as a pot with well-draining soil to prevent water-logging.
Before planting, enrich the soil with organic matter such as compost or well-rotted manure, to provide essential nutrients for the plant’s growth.
Plant rosemary either from seeds or nursery-bought seedlings by sowing them directly into the prepared soil, covering them lightly with a thin layer of soil.
Water the plant regularly, especially during the first few weeks after planting.
Rosemary is relatively low-maintenance, but benefits from occasional pruning to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth.
