Green Chutney is commonly used as a side for Street foods like Bhel Puri. It is also used as a spread in sandwiches and wraps. It also accompanies south indian dishes like Dosa and Idli. Here's the recipe for green chutney.
1 cup coriander leaves ½ cup mint leaves / pudina 3 clove garlic 3 inch ginger 2 tbsp roasted gram dal / putani 3 green chilli ½ tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
1 tsp chaat masala ½ tsp sugar ½ tsp salt Pinch of hing / asafoetida ½ cup water 1 tbsp lemon juice
Grind coriander leaves, mint leaves, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Additionally add roasted gram dal, cumin powder, chaat masala, sugar, salt and pinch of hing. Blend smooth adding water.
Transfer to a cup and mix lemon juice. Green chutney is ready to be served.
