Granola and muesli are two common breakfast options that are renowned for their health benefits. Although granola is popularly sold as a bar, it is also available in the form of a cereal. The confusion between both the products is quite prevalent since they look the same and somewhat taste the same at times depending on the brand but they do have their differences.
Granola's primary ingredients are rolled oats, nuts, seeds, and sweeteners whereas muesli has rye flakes, corn flakes, nuts, and seeds.
Granola is sweeter than muesli since it often contains additional sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
The ingredients for muesli are sold in their raw form whereas granola is baked, giving it its signature crunch.
Granola usually contains more calories since it contains more fats and sweeteners as compared to muesli.
Granola is more versatile since it can be enjoyed as a topping, smoothie bowls, or eaten on its own whereas muesli is usually only as a cereal with milk.
