In Indian kitchen, where there’s no place for scarcity, it's natural to have some food left after a lavish family party dinner. If you made some extra portions of idlis and want to know what to make with the leftovers, here are some recipes you can try.
Break idli into chunks and stir fry it with chopped onion, tomatoes, spices and some salt. Garnish with coriander and serve warm.
Take your stir-fried idli to the next level by sauteeing it in spiced onion garlic and chilli paste. Add tomato puree and let it simmer until flavours absorb.
Coat idli chunks with batter and deep fry or air fry it to make fried idli pops. Stuff cheese in the middle for a surprise and pair it with ketchup.
To make a flavourful idli burger, coat idli in masala marinade and pan fry it, then cut in half and stuff it with burger fillings.
Create a lip-smacking chaat with idli by ladening it with creamy dahi, imli sauce, green chutney, sev, papdi and chaat masala.
Bring the Sichuan flavours to idli by adding chopped vegetables, soy sauce, ketchup, and spices to idli stir fry.
Slit open leftover idlis and fill it with aloo masala, cheese, vada pav mix, pav bhaji gravy, or any filling of choice to make these delicious appetisers.
