Give a twist to your classic margarita with a hint of the amazing Gondhoraj lebu from Bengal. Here is a simple recipe for you to follow.
60 ml tequila 30 ml regular or Kaji lime juice, freshly squeezed 30-40 ml sugar syrup 15 ml Cointreau (or triple sec) 3-4 large ice cubes 1 large strip of Gondhoraj peel for garnish Juice of 1 Gondhoraj Pinch of salt
Shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. And when chilled, adjust sweetness as per your taste.
Strain into already prepared glasses. To prepare, half rim the glasses with a rub of lime, and then pour salt.
Squeeze the lime zest over the glasses and rub it around the unsalted part of the rim. Add it to the drink, to get an aroma of gondhoraj.
For a party, multiply the recipe according to guests, and strain over a pitcher full of crushed ice.
