Among the various vegan or nut milk varieties, almond milk is arguably the most preferred and popular choice. Although people mostly buy it from stores, you can also prepare it at home with this simple recipe.

Ingredients

1 cup raw almonds 4 cups water Sweetener (optional) Vanilla extract (optional) Pinch of salt (optional)

Step 1

Soak almonds in water overnight. Drain and rinse.

Step 2

Blend almonds with 4 cups of fresh water until smooth. Strain through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer.

Step 3

Add sweetener, vanilla, and salt if desired. Blend briefly.

Step 4

Refrigerate and shake well before use. Keeps for 3-4 days.
