Gobi Paratha: A Cozy Breakfast For Winter Season

Also known as cauliflower paratha, these unleavened whole wheat flatbreads are stuffed with a savoury, spiced grated cauliflower filling. Here is an easy recipe to make gobi paratha at home.

Ingredients

1 grated cauliflower, 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, salt to taste, 1 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon fresh coriander leaves, ½ teaspoon green chillies, ½ teaspoon ginger, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala powder, ½ teaspoon carom seeds, ghee for basting, yoghurt to serve, green chutney to serve, mango pickle to serve

Step 1

Take whole wheat flour in a bowl, add salt and 1 tbsp oil and mix well. Add water and knead into a semi-soft dough. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

To prepare stuffing, take cauliflower in another bowl, add coriander leaves, chillies, ginger, salt, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and carom seeds and mix well.

Step 3

Divide the dough into equal portions and then shape into a katori. Stuff it with the mixture. Roll them into semi-thick disc.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick tawa. Place paratha on it and roast until golden on both the sides with ghee. Serve hot with yoghurt, green chutney and mango pickle.
