Go Nuts Over These Black Pepper Caramel Bar Nuts

Spicy, sticky, sweet and addictive, these bar nuts taste nothing like the boring peanuts served at your favourite watering hole. Wow your guests by serving these spiced caramel nuts to munch on, at your next party.

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon water ½ tablespoon soy sauce ½ tablespoon vinegar ½ tablespoon hot sauce 2 tablespoons black pepper powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder ½ cup unsalted peanuts ½ cup cashew nuts

METHOD

Add the water and sugar to a pan and melt them together.

Follow it up with the soy sauce and hot sauce, spice powders and a pinch of salt to taste.

Remove the sauce off heat and mix in the vinegar.

Toss the nuts in this mixture while still warm and lay out on a sheet tray to harden slightly before serving.
