Tired of the same old Bharwa Karela? Then try this easy, non-vegetarian twist on the dish today.
2 cups mutton keema 5 bitter gourd 2 onions, finely chopped 1 tsp turmeric powder 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp red chilli powder 1 tbsp garam masala powder 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp amchoor powder Salt, to taste 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped 5 tbsp oil 1 tsp chaat masala 1 lemon, juiced
Slit the bitter gourd and scrape the seeds from inside. Add salt and ½ tsp turmeric powder, rub well and rest the bitter gourd.
To cook the stuffing, heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, onions and ginger garlic paste, then saute for two minutes.
Now add the mutton keema, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and cook until the mutton is fully cooked.
Add the amchoor powder, fresh coriander leaves, mix well and let the stuffing cool down a bit.
Place adequate amounts of the mutton keema stuffing in the slit bitter gourd then tie each with a cooking string.
Heat oil in a pan, then place the mutton keema stuffed bitter gourd. Cover and cook until done, then enjoy the dish with roti or pulao.
