An irregular menstrual cycle can be the result of many factors including stress, poor diet, travel, changes in time zones and even excessive consumption of alcohol. Here are some foods that can be added to your diet to regularise periods.
Rich in vitamin C and magnesium, ginger has multiple health benefits. It also helps the uterus to contract, gradually regularising the cycle.
Mix cinnamon powder with lukewarm water and drink this in the morning. It promotes blood flow, warming the body from within that helps to regulate the monthly cycle.
Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory so it helps to soothe the uterus and promote healthy flow. Having turmeric milk before sleeping every night also helps to soothe period cramps.
Rich in vitamin C or ascorbic acid, citrus foods can boost the production of estrogen in the female body which helps to strengthen the uterine climate and regulate menstruation.
Delicious and healthy at once, raw papaya can help to contract muscles in the uterus and promote the release of blood and tissues. However, try to avoid eating papaya during the cycle.
Soak raisins and kesar in some water and have this mix on waking up early in the morning. It reduces period pain, wards of cramps and regulates the cycle.
