Coconut Milk is made by squeezing the liquid from shaved coconut. The thick creamy liquid is called the first pressing.
To minimise waste, water is added and the coconut flesh is squeezed again which creates a thinner, more liquid milk called the second pressing.
When the rich first pressing is mixed with coconut oil, it creates a more dense, almost solid form called coconut cream.
