One of the most populous states of India is well-known for its diversity of slangs and dialects as well as food. In fact, you find a huge breakfast platter too.
The locals are usually busy hogging on freshly-made kachoris, pooris, and all things deep-fried early in the morning and streets are filled with these appetizing aromas.
This classic winter-special breakfast hails from Varanasi. It consists of beaten rice aka choora or poha, paired with fresh green peas and minimum spices.
A cross between a kachori and a poori, bedais are quite famous in cities like Agra. The flaky fried bite is usually accompanied by deep-fried sweet meats like jalebi.
Did you know that UP is home to meaty breakfast treats too? This one is very popular in Lucknow, where a hearty mutton stew is served with a soft flatbread.
Made with urad and chana dal, the poori dough is flavoured with cumin seeds and kasoori methi. This can be paired with either potato or pumpkin curry.
The crispy deep-fried kachoris are stuffed with a spice mix and served with a hot and spicy aloo ki subzi. Add some green chutney along with it for breakfast.
