A tangy and hot South Indian dish called "Raw Mango Rasam" is created with raw mango, tamarind, and several spices. The dish is ideal for summer.
1 small raw mango, peeled and chopped 1 small lemon-sized tamarind ball 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds 1 tablespoon ghee or oil 1 sprig of curry leaves 2 dried red chilies 2 cloves of garlic, chopped 1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves Salt to taste
Take tamarind and Soak them in 2 cups of hot water for 20-30 minutes. Strain the tamarind water.
Now In a deep pan, add the chopped raw mango, turmeric powder, and 3 cups of water.
Cook well until the raw mangoes are soft and mushy. Now In a separate pan, heat ghee or oil.
Add cumin seeds, black pepper, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, dried red chilies, and chopped garlic.
Now Add the tempering to the cooked raw mango mixture and mix well. Add salt to taste and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Top with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot. Enjoy your tangy and spicy Raw Mango Rasam!
