During Ganesh Chaturthi, a variety of Modaks are offered as prasad, each with its unique flavour and texture. From traditional recipes to innovative versions, these sweet dumplings symbolise devotion and celebration.
The classic steamed version, Ukadiche Modak is made from rice flour dough filled with a sweet mixture of freshly grated coconut and jaggery, flavoured with cardamom. The dumplings are steamed to perfection, resulting in a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
A modern twist on the traditional recipe, Chocolate Modak blends the rich taste of chocolate with the traditional coconut filling.
Mawa Modak is a rich and creamy variant made from khoya (mawa), a type of reduced milk. The modaks are sweetened with sugar, and flavoured with cardamom, saffron, or nuts.
Packed with the goodness of dried fruits such as almonds, cashews, pistachios, and raisins, Dry Fruit Modak offers a nutty twist to the traditional recipe.
Peda Modak is inspired by the traditional Indian sweet, peda. It’s made from condensed milk, sugar, and cardamom, shaped into small modaks.
A seasonal delight, Mango Modak incorporates the sweetness of mango pulp into the traditional filling. The mango pulp is mixed with coconut and jaggery.
