Laddoos are an integral part of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, symbolizing prosperity, sweetness, and devotion. These delightful sweets are often prepared as offerings to Lord Ganesha and are enjoyed by families and guests during the festival. Traditional laddoos are made with a variety of ingredients, each contributing to a unique flavor and texture. Here's an easy festive laddoo recipe,

Ingredients

– 1 cup chickpea flour (besan) – 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter) – 1/2 cup jaggery, grated (or brown sugar) – 1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, or pistachios) – 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut – 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder – 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional, for garnish) – A pinch of salt

Step 1

Gather and measure all the ingredients. Chop the nuts and grate the jaggery if using a block. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the chickpea flour and roast it, stirring continuously, until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.

Step 2

Once the chickpea flour is roasted, add the grated jaggery to the pan. Stir well to combine it with the flour. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the jaggery melts and blends into the mixture. Add the chopped nuts, desiccated coconut, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3

Sprinkle in the cardamom powder and mix thoroughly. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes, ensuring the mixture is well combined and thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly until it’s comfortable to handle.

Step 4

While the mixture is still warm but manageable, grease your hands with a little ghee. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small balls or laddoos. You can also roll them in poppy seeds for added texture
