Motichoor laddoo is an essential part of bhog during Ganesh Chaturthi. It is said to be one of the favourite mithai of Ganpati Bappa. Here are six tips to make perfect motichoor laddoo at home.

Ensure that the batter of the laddoo is smooth and lump-free. If it's too thick, your boondis will be heavy and won't absorb the sugar syrup properly.

Heat the oil or ghee for frying on medium-high heat. The temperature of the oil is crucial for getting perfectly round and porous boondis.

Fry the boondis until they are slightly golden but not browned. Overcooking can make them hard.

After frying, drain excess oil by gently pressing the boondis between your palms or using a paper towel.

Add the hot boondis directly into the hot sugar syrup. This helps them absorb the syrup properly.

If using nuts for garnish, press them onto the laddoos while they are still warm, so they stick.
