Gajrela, also known as Gajar ka Halwa, is a beloved Punjabi dessert that's as comforting as it is delicious. So, before the winter season ends, why don’t you make the most of gajar and make gajrela?
1 kg carrots 1 litre milk 250 grams sugar 100 grams ghee 1 teaspoon cardamom powder 25 grams cashews 25 grams almonds 25 grams raisins
Heat some ghee, grate the carrots and saute them till soft.
Pour in the milk and let it boil. Let it simmer till the milk thickens.
Add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir well till the sugar dissolves.
Once the milk is thickened, garnish the halwa with chopped almonds, cashews, and raisins.
Serve the gajrela warm or chilled as per your liking.
