From Leaf To Roll: How To Make Perfect Cabbage Rolls

Cabbage rolls are a yummy comfort food that can be stuffed with many different fillings. This recipe will show you how to make perfect cabbage rolls that are soft, flavourful, and filling using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

1 big cabbage 1 cup cooked rice 250g minced meat/paneer 1 medium onion 2 tomatoes 2 tsp. oil 1 tsp. garam masala 1 tsp. cumin seeds 1 tsp. turmeric powder 1 tsp red chilli powder Salt to taste Fresh coriander for garnish

Step 1

Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage and blanch them in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until soft. Let it cool.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan; add cumin seeds and onions. Sauté until golden. 

Step 3

Add minced meat/paneer, turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until done. 

Step 4

Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf. Roll tight and fold the sides in.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan; add tomato puree and salt. Let it simmer. 

Step 6

Place the cabbage rolls in the sauce, cover, and cook on low heat for 10–15 minutes.

Step 7

Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
