2 cups cooked rice Water for soaking Salt to taste, 1 cup buttermilk

Place the cooked rice in an earthen pot (or any container). Add water to submerge the rice, cover and let it sit overnight for fermenting..

The next day, add salt to the rice and mash it properly using a spoon until it turns into a coarse paste.
